Look Who's 6! And a little soccer!

Collin loves playing soccer and is one fast little dude! I mean he is really fast, much faster than he has a right to be with the parents he has! We can also tell he plays soccer with his brother a lot, he is very good at stealing the ball from the other kids :)

Opening his birthday presents on his birthday! I can't believe he is 6 already. We went to dinner at Hacienda Colorado (Collin's choice) with Grandma, Papa, Beth and Chris. Collin loves being the center of attention! And certainly does not mind when we all sang happy birthday to him! His favorite present was the money he got!!!

Port Aransas

The boys playing in the surf. They loved playing in the ocean! They thought the waves were awesome and the salt water did not bother them a bit. I even taught Aidan to body surf, the waves were big enough. It was a really hot and humid day, but we all had a lot of fun!

Skinny child! Looking out at the ocean. We had a great time at the beach with friends!

Collin's 1st Day!

Collin and his fist day of Kindergarten. He looks so handsome in his uniform and he is loving his class, teacher and friends. He has homework every night, gets to go to music class once a week, art once a week and even the library!

Manchester

This is our new puppy Manchester AKA Chester. He is a very sweet Greater Swiss Mountain Dog mix. He is in the middle of puppy Kindergarten, so he is learning sit, stay and how to walk nicely on a leash. Now if we could get him to stop chasing the cat and jumping up on people!

First Swim Meet

Backstroke Boy!!!

Aidan and I had our first swim meet today. Aidan swam really great, although he aged up this year to 9&10 and had to swim 50s instead of the easy 25s that the 8&unders get to swim. Those 50s were pretty hard for him, but he will get much better each week! He also had a full meet, two relays, 50 breast, 50 free and 50 back. His favorite is the breast and back, he does not like the free that much, too much time with your head in the water I think:)
I had a fun meet also, if a little stressful. It was my first meet back as a coach in a few years and that was a lot of fun. I have a great coaching staff, so having over a 100 kids on the team is a lot more manageable, but still hard to organize them all into relays, making sure they are where they need to be, and making sure we are cheering for each and everyone of them. After a long day, Aidan and I are exhausted, but we wrapped up the day by watching some great football, er soccer games!
A little bit of Breaststroke

Violin Concert

Collin and Aidan played in their yearly solo violin concert on Saturday. Our video camera is still broken so no video yet again. I really do need to just go out and buy one :) Aidan played a piece by Seitz-we call it the 3rd Seitz (because it is the 3rd Seitz song in the book) but it really does have another name to it, I just don't know what that is! Collin played Allegro. They both did an amazing job and both had a blast playing, although from the pictures you couldn't tell. Can they both be anymore serious when they play! Aidan also had a soccer game before the concert, so he is a little wet from that. The weather was FREEZING cold and raining for the game and we did not have much time to dry off!

The Barnett Family Band

Collin is a great guitar player!
Besides hunting for Easter Eggs the boys spent most of Easter morning at Grandma and Papa's house playing their new Guitar Hero drums they got from the Easter Bunny. That Easter Bunny sure knows how to spoil the boys. So now we have a Barnett Family band, and the boys are getting pretty good at the instruments too. Although they still won't let me take part-something to do with how bad I sing. Aidan and Collin surly did not get any musical talent they have from me!!!
